KURT JOHNSON joined Frontier in January of 1998. Kurt was raised in Iowa and assumed management of his family farming interest in 1979. This operation included a large farrow to finish hog operation, cattle feeding and extensive corn and soybean crop production. In 1985, Kurt began employing the futures and options markets to hedge the farm operation inventories. His intense interest in the markets led to his decision to pursue a career in the futures industry. In 1992, Kurt joined the Farm Marketing Group at Packers Trading Company. While at Packers, Kurt utilized his background and practical ag-business experience to develop an extensive network of pork industry contacts. This cash hog information source has gained significant industry recognition and proves invaluable to Frontier's clients trading those markets.
